iPhone

Welcome to my blog about iPhone/Web 2.0. I’m an American living in Berlin and work as a freelance iPhone developer. My most popular application is Chess Player which has a collection of 10,000+ high-rated games which you can watch randomly on the go. Go Player is the same concept for Go. Random Chess generates random Chess960 positions for you to play on a real board with a friend.

I’m working on more iPhone applications as well as an interview series with iPhone developers. You can already read my interviews with the developers of Metasquares, BloXoR, and Galcon.

German

I’m the cohost of GermanPod101. We offer the best podcast to help you learn German, no matter what your level: newbie, beginner, intermediate and advanced. You can also find us on iTunes.

Esperanto

I started learning Esperanto in January 2001 and already founded the Esperanto Wikipedia in November of the same year. I have since started a social networking site for Esperanto speakers Amikumu with members from over 100 countries. I also run an Esperanto job search site at Eklaboru. If you’d like to learn Esperanto, check out Lernu.

Translation

I’m especially knowledgeable of Esperanto web and computer terminology helping to create the Komputeko. I’ve also translated the content management system Drupal to Esperanto as well as doing occasional work for Esperanto organizations worldwide. I offer translations between the following language pairs: Esperanto -> English, English -> Esperanto, German -> English. My standard rate is 0,10 € per word. I can also speak conversational Spanish, Dutch and French, but not well enough for translation work.

Board games

I’ve previously worked for About.com as their board games guide and the Mind Sports Organisation as a web developer and board game news reporter. I also led the development of the poker social networking site, PokerRing.
